Mossy exposes tools through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), so you can use them from a compatible assistant.
Connect to Mossy
You need an MCP client that supports remote servers over Streamable HTTP. To connect to the public instance:
- Open your client’s MCP server settings and add a server named
mossy. - Set the server URL to
https://mossy.tools/mcpand, if prompted, select Streamable HTTP as the transport. - Connect and check that your client lists Mossy’s tools.
Available tools
You can ask your assistant to use these tools:
generateToken: generate a random token with your chosen length and character sets.generateRandomPort: generate a random port number from your chosen ranges. This doesn’t check whether the port is available on your machine.convertDate: convert a date or timestamp into all supported formats in UTC. Takes a required stringvalueand optionaldateOrder(auto, dmy, mdy),timestampUnit(auto, seconds, milliseconds, excel), andlocale(defaulten). Both detection options default toauto. Timezone selection is not supported; dates without an offset are interpreted as UTC.
For example, ask: “Use Mossy to generate a 32-character token”.
Self-hosting
To use your own instance, replace the public URL with your instance’s URL followed by /mcp. You must use server mode; static deployments don’t include the MCP endpoint.
